lala

It's funny
usually when I write poetry
I'm not a big rhymer.
I guess what with all the Dr. Suess's and Shel Silverstein's around, it's hard not to think of rhythmical poetry as more of an infantile sort of work as opposed to something serious.

I don't know why though,
but my poems always seemed to come together best when they rhymed.
It seemed as though everything I was trying to say fit together like a puzzle.

Recently however, I've come to find
that the poems I write
without rhyming aren't limited to certain words
which helps when trying to create certain scenarios of abstract imagery inside of one's poems.

None-the-less
I've just finished writing a poem that rhymes.
And I think it's one of my prized creations.
Perhaps simply because of the meaning I hold behind it.

I can't sleep tonight.
People tend to create their own hell, and I'm aware that tonight, this is exactly the case.
It's 4:32, and in 2 hours, I'll be getting ready for school.
I know sleeping will only make the day more difficult.
I'm concerned about being able to find money for some caffine, and gum
and I'm worried that I'm going to have difficulties concentrating in school tomorrow.
Or rather
today
:\

in any case,
this is the poem i wrote.
it's untitled:

" sweet punisher
my hands are washed
in pools of sin
on porcleans lip
i wrestle with
uncertainties that always win
aeorta's rip
sweet masquerade
my sequin swan
your eyes are warm
and i'm your pawn
the devil's sneer
crawls through my head
a vine of whispers
call me dead
sweet shame
your sugar coated skin
i use for poems of hurt within
and lies with truth
are spilled and splashed
my thoughts all contradict & crash
oh my sorrows
oh my painted woes
of fear, and fright,
of stop and go
atop this acid
you can see
the hell that dwells inside of me."

in a way, reading through it sort of pisses me of
because it sounds so cliche, and would be "emo". but i don't believe the meaning behind the poem can actually be understood without proper explanations.*sigh*oh well.i'm off to play some games or something. and possibly search for some money. until later.
